Hi guys,

I want to show you step by step the construction of my new quad. It's based on a Lethal Conception Bando Killer V2 frame with the following components:

- Holybro Kakute F745 HDV FC
- Holybro Tekko32 65A Metal ESC
- 4 x RCingpower Smoox 2306.5 1880kv motors
- Caddx Vista HD module.
- DJI Digital Cam (the old one).
- Some kind of antenna for VTX... maybe a u.FL RUSH Cherry or a Lollipop with pigtail.
- TBS Crossfire Nano RX with Immortal-T antenna.

This build will proceed slowly because i'm trying to realize a quad with good quality components and the best functional/aesthetic solution I can handle. It should be something i will be proud of but I will be afraid to fly! Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (7)

First of all i assembled the frame (you don't say....??? Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (14) )

The Bando Killer V2 takes time to be assembled with a huge number of small carbon fiber parts, screws of different size, washers, etc...

The pros are that each piece sets into the other with mathematical precision, it's a crazy design. I was afraid of possible vibrations due to the huge amount of screws and parts but everything is solid, monolithic! Corners of carbon fiber parts are perfectly smoothed and the overall quality is damn good! I can say the best frame i ever had in my hands.

Some cons: Assembly instructions (which are fundamental for this frame) are not included in the box, difficult to find (small link on the official seller page) and someway incomplete. I'm still trying to find out how to mount the spacers for the camera. Then, TPU arm protectors are not included; they shall be purchased apart (I will print my own).

However this is the result:

First motor!

One nice thing about the bando killer is that you can dismount each arm from the bottom without loosing any part of the main body! This wayI was able to wrap the wires into the orange sleeve and then fix the same with thermoretractables to the arm without using any adhesive tape or zip-ties which I don't like at all. The arm is then mounted on the body with the motor and its wires properly fixed.

Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (23)

Now I have the first doubt. i don't know if mounting the ESC in normal position (power pads in the back) with the power wires placedlike this:

Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (24)

or 90 degrees with power cables on the side.

As soon as i will receive my Tekko32 i will made some test searching for the most confortable solution. Any suggestion ?

No love for the new build. I guess some on the forum are bored of 5" builds Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (34)

With regards to ESC orientation, the Tekko32F3 Metal 4in1 ESC is best oriented with the battery pads facing the back of the quad and you can route the lipo leads through the top plate. I think this is a safe way to avoid chopping off your lipo leads.

Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (35)

Another thing to mention is that oriented this way motor pads are oriented correctly and you can avoid any motor remapping in Betaflight.

Just my thoughts on how I would do it.

This is such a greatlooking frame with it's ownunique design and isn't just another tweaked clone of what is already out there.

What is the spacingbetween the two rear sets of stand-offs? I'm wondering if there'senough room to get a full Air Unit in there Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (49)It looks like there might. Not that it matters for you if you are going to be putting a Vista in yours but this frame might be another option for full Air Unit builds.

As for the ESC you will just have to see how it best fits once you have it in your hands. That framedoes seem to be quite wide in the middlewhere the stack is installed so you might get away with the XT60 padson the side and the motor pads front and back. I thought about doing the sameon my latest buildbut the frame is quitenarrow and I thought there might betoo much risk in the event of a crashwith the XT60pad part of the ESC sticking out the side, so I ended up just goingwith the traditional orientation(photos HERE).

Thanks to you both for your help!

Regarding the full Air Unit... yes it fits! There are special carbon fiber and TPU parts inside the package to properly mount it.

Regarding the ESC i think i will evaluate the protrusion of the pads outside the frame, It should arrive in a couple of day.

Man I'm glad to see someone building this frame. I've wanted to buy it but it's been sold out for so long I just gave up looking for it. Looking good do far man. Now this is just my personal preference but I run 90% of my battery leads out of the side. I fly hd and most of my builds are tight enough to not allow the leads to go out of the back anyways. If you do it right you won't have to worry about cutting them with your props. Like I said just my personal preference.

Even with the XT60 pads at the back of the ESC(inside the frame) you can still bring the XT60 pigtailout the side of the quad at right angles. This what I like to do wherepossible.

That's exactly what i was thinking about, I don't like very much the short, vertical XT60 rising from the side. On the other hand the rotated ESC, with solderings hidden inside the frame, offers a cleaner solution.

I think the only reasonable answer is to try case by case.

Anyway, time for an update! Motors are now properly sleeved and mounted!

5inch is allways nice :-) but there is still a lot buildculture next too 250g or 5inch ;-) these trendy-numbers decrease the build culture overall Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (116)

nice build - that cam mount looks very very tanky :-)
orange/black combination looks nice - i would call it "oranger" :-) that sounds good to me :-)

Update!

I didn't like the original arm protectors... screws touch the ground which means that they will get deformed after a couple of myrude landings. In addition, they are not included, they are sold separately... not good!

I made some taller protectors to lift the screws.

Then... which is better for you ? This choice will be critical! Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (132)

I think traditional orientation with the 12 motor pad on the sides will bebetter. The criticalESC-to-FC connector will also then be protected inside the frame that way. Just my opinion of course. Fit it whichever way round YOU think is best Bando Killer V2 | IntoFPV Forum (148)

Oh man I have always loved the design of the Bando Killer. No other frame has its crazy aggressive looking curves and lines.

Great job with this pro looking clean build man - lovin the color coordination!!!
